I have no shame in asking people I don’t know for money. I will be forever grateful if you help me get my hands on a banjo.

I have an old one I'll let you borrow if I can steal it back from the kid who currently has it!

I would buy if off of you. I can’t find many used Banjos around me despite being in Appalachia.

Ah, it’s probably not worth anything. It doesn’t sound bad, it was fine to learn on until I decided I was going to stick with it. I played it for awhile and then my brother-in-law gave me his Deering. Send me an email, jrcottrell at gmail. I'll pester the kid tomorrow and make sure he hasn't pawned it or something.

So if I gave you $180, you will fly to California to thank me?

Just build one. I did last year. It was super cheap. It just took some time and effort.

Eventually. I plan on going there again at some point. The farther you are from Boone, NC the longer it will take to receive the personal thank you.

I would. I have built cigarbox guitars in the past. Unfourtunaly I live in a dorm that bans power tools and saws. I might convince my professor to let me use the wood-shop though.
